As we look towards the final fixture of the year, we are also looking forward to the very special annual service returning to The Priory on Sunday 29th August. In the words of Nick Devenish, our Vicar
‘Do join us on Sunday 29th August at 10.30am in The Priory for Steeplechase Sunday. This is a short service that celebrates jump racing and the beauty of the landscape that is the back drop to Cartmel Races. The exercising of horses dates back to when The Priory was a monastery and we celebrate that continuing today. We also welcome our local trainer Jimmy Moffat who will bring one of his race horses to the driveway as we conclude our service outside. It is a truly blessed spectacle. You are most welcome’
