Saturday 23rd features the hugely exciting Cartmel Cup hurdle race. This annual steeplechase has a long history and never fails to excite. With the home straight going straight through the visitor paddock, you’ll be right at the heart of the action!
Bank Holiday Monday continues the fun, with even more exciting races in our August Season Finale. You’ll be right in the thick of it, just feet away from the horses themselves as they pound towards the finish line.
Our race days are more than just racing however – they’re a full-on experience! Alongside the exhilarating sporting action, you’ll find a funfair packed with rides, games, and treats that will delight kids and adults alike. We’ll also be featuring face painting for the kids, a mini-truck zone and an outstanding range of food vendors.
If you’d prefer to bring your own picnic, you’re more than free to do so – as well as your own alcoholic drinks and picnic furniture! We also have tables for hire, so if you’d rather come on foot, it’s easy. In fact, it’s made even easier with the free shuttle bus from the nearby Cark station!
Best of all, kids go FREE into General Admission, making for a vibrant, family-friendly and affordable experience, all playing into the unique party atmosphere of a Cartmel race day. Expect plenty of open space, easy access to amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere where everyone – from toddlers to grandparents – can enjoy the day together. So grab your sunhat (or your raincoat – it’s the UK after all!), rally the family, and get ready for a day that’s full of fun, laughter, and edge-of-your-seat racing.
