Award-winning radio presenter to host exclusive 1856 Lounge at Cartmel Racecourse

AN award-winning radio presenter has been unveiled as the host of the exclusive 1856 Lounge at Cartmel Racecourse for 2019.
Popular breakfast show host Danny Matthews will take the lead in the VIP cocktail lounge at Cartmel for each of its nine racedays this year, beginning on Saturday, May 25.
Danny has become a household name across the area following his key roles on The Bay and most recently at Heart FM Lancashire and Cumbria.
He said: “I love Cartmel Racecourse, it’s got a fantastic atmosphere. I’ve been many times before to enjoy the racing and I even saw Tom Jones perform.
“It’s a great pleasure to DJ in the 1856 Lounge this year and to make sure people can enjoy the party with their friends, family or colleagues as well as the racing.
“Please do pop over and say hello, I’m looking forward to meeting lots of people on racedays.”
The 1856 Lounge offers a relaxed, celebratory atmosphere to racegoers at Cartmel with a champagne bar, cocktail bar and luxurious garden terrace inside the paddock area.
It took its name from the year racing began at Cartmel Racecourse, one of the most unique tracks in the country, and is accessible to ticket holders only.
Guests can enjoy the music until 8pm as well as a carefully selected menu of snacks for purchase.
