There will be a record purse of £407,000 on offer to connections of runners at Cartmel this season. Included within the most valuable programme of races ever scheduled for the Lakeland track are four Class 2 races – devised to attract some of the best horses, jockeys and trainers available.

While the most valuable race of the season remains the Class 3 Totepool Cumbria Crystal Hurdle (at £26,000), there will be two new Class 2 races scheduled for the brand new raceday on Sunday 28th June – sponsored by Oakmere Homes.

The concluding day of the season, Bank Holiday Monday 31st August, will also include two Class 2 feature races on the seven race programme.
