Iain Jardine took the early lead in this season's Hadwins Motor Group Mares Series when joint favourite River Icon took what should have been the second race in the series on the third day of the Whit weekend meeting.
The first round was one of the three races abandoned after the torrential rain on the opening day, so any points collected now will be priceless unless and opportunity is found to re-schedule the lost race.
Fergal O'Brien picked up the six point for second place with Don't Tell Val, while Irish trainer Stuart Crawford, guaranteed four points for two runners in the race, got a bonus point when Knocklayde Sno Cat was promoted to third following the disqualification of Milan Diva for unluckily losing a weight on the run to the last flight.
The trainer winning the Series will receive a £1,000 bonus.
