2017 Fixture List is Published

Cartmel will stage nine fixtures in 2017 including three days at the end of May, plus the two day meeting commencing at the end of June, two days in July and concluding with the traditional two day August Bank Holiday meeting.

Top Trainer Returns

Cartmel-based trainer James Moffatt, who was crowned top trainer at his local course in 2015, is gearing up for a successful defence of his title ahead of the opening meeting of the year on Saturday, May 28.

RAIL TRAVEL UPDATE

Although there will also be trains running from Lancaster and Barrow to Cartmel on Sunday 29th May (the date of the Jools Holland concert), prior to the event, there will be a more limited service during the evening after the concert – with trains departing in the direction of Barrow-in-Furness only.

Campervan Pitches Sell Out For Simply Red Raceday

Camping pitches for caravans and campervans, on the Simply Red Raceday, sold out in less than two hours when they went on sale on Monday 15th February.

Pitches are still available for tents. The £30 camping fee includes a pitch for two nights (Friday 27th and Saturday 28th May) for two people. Pitches for campervans are available for some of the other racedays during Cartmel’s Summer season.

Jools Holland Booked for Sunday 29th May

Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra will be coming to Cartmel to play on the evening before the Bank Holiday Monday Race-day on Sunday 29th May.

There will be no horseracing on this date, although there will be on the previous day and the day after. The concert is expected to sttart at 6.00pm with the gates open from 3.00pm.
