Cartmel Steeplechase Dinner – Friday 24th August 2012

29/03/2012

We enjoyed ourselves so much in 2011 we thought we’d do it all over again in 2012!

The inaugural presentation of our Cartmel Award for Outstanding Achievement was a great success and nominations included Tony McCoy, Donald McCain, Father Robert Bailey (who retired from Cartmel Priory in 2011), Jean and Howard Johns (who make the famed Sticky Toffee Pudding) and the eventual winner – Tom Newby (who has put in more than 50 years of assistance on the groundstaff team at Cartmel).

The evening is hosted by our Racecourse Directors in a special marquee at Holker Hall and celebrates all that is good about the world of jump racing, the wide range of participants, and especially the unique atmosphere generated by racing at Cartmel.

The dinner takes place between the first two days of the Cartmel August Festival and complements the carnival atmosphere by providing an opportunity for some of our top trainers to let their hair down!

In addition to a fine dinner, there will be dancing until midnight and entertaining speeches. For tickets and further information, please contact the Racecourse Office on 015395 36340.
